Weightlifter Artyom Okulov won YOG gold medal in Singapore 18.08.2010
Weightlifter Artyom Okulov who represents both the Perm region and Tatarstan became earned the men’s weightlifting title in the 77kg category
Russian weightlifter Artyom Okulov became winner of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games. Today the sportsman who represents both the Perm region and Tatarstan won the gold lifting a total of 327kg in the men’s under 77kg final, the Tatar-Inform news agency informs.
Okulov lifted 327 kg (145+185) in the double-event and took gold ahead of Thailand’s Chatuphum Chinnawong (141+170) with Rustem Sybay from Kazakhstan placing third (130+155).
This is the third medal of Tatarstan’s collection at the First Youth Olympics. Foil fencer Victoria Alexeyeva won an individual silver medal and Svetlana Lipatova took bronze in freestyle wrestling.
