Victoria Rastykus: A volunteer shoulders solution of all the emerging problems 08.07.2010
Yet again Moscow players Victoria Rastykus/Daria Yarzutkina left the court unbeaten. Like the day earlier they defeated the Polish athletes.
Despite the fact that the Russian girls took a 2-0 victory, the match kept the spectators on tenterhooks till the final whistle. Victoria Rastykus shared her impression about the Championship, the city and plans for future.
- First of all I would like to congratulate you on your third straight win. Did it make you feel more confident?
- We do not doubt our abilities, such matches give us assurance. Today we expended a lot of energy and we are exhausted. Such games wear us out. It’s extremely hard to play beach volleyball in the height of summer. The sun makes you grow weary and dizzy. Eventually you get accustomed but it’s unbearable to play on the court in the afternoon. And besides it’s surprisingly hot in Kazan.
- You are a rather experienced athlete and played in many tournaments. How do you estimate the level of the Championship organization in the capital of the 2013 Summer Universiade?
- I can say for sure that the organization is on the highest level. We had no problems during the days of the Championship. Every team has a volunteer that solves all the problems. We have a wonderful one. We don’t have to worry about anything with him.
- What’s your impression of the city?
- I like the city very much! I visit it each time with great pleasure. As soon as my partner and I have free time we will go for a walk to the downtown. But due to the tight training program we don’t have much of spare time.
- Do you remember what your tightest tournament was?
- It’s hard to name one. You try to do your best at each championship, so there is no easy tournament. We had an interesting experience in the world tour in Brazil. The pairs were divided in pools according to their ranking. And it so happened that the only two Russian teams met in the first round of the tournament. And in the end we lost.
- What are your plans for near future after the Championship?
- On July 15 the Russian Championship round kicks off. We will have serious training sessions. We plan to show a decent game and win prizes.
