Tatarstan’s youth join Kazan 2013 volunteer programme 07.02.2012

Under the project, presentations of the 2013 Summer Universiade and Kazan 2013 volunteer programme will be held in more than 20 districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meetings hosted by representatives of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate will be attended by students of high schools, higher education establishments and other young activists, as well as heads of municipal units of the republic.

During the meetings, the Kazan 2013 volunteers will talk about the 2013 Summer Universiade preparation progress, as well as give a review of the Kazan 2013 volunteer selection programme and discuss volunteer opportunities that will be available for the period of the Games, details of the volunteer selection and training process and volunteer reward system. At the end of the presentation, would-be volunteers will be offered to complete an online application at www.makeureal.kazan2013.com.

The meetings under the Learn Everything about the Universiade project have already been held in the town of Zainsk, as well as in the Sabinsky and Atninsky Municipal Districts of the republic. «The project has afforded us the opportunity to launch an active volunteer recruitment drive in municipal districts of the republic that are especially enthusiastic about being part of the preparations and staging of such a grandiose event as the Universiade in Kazan. After our first three presentations, the number of people that applied to be volunteers at the 2013 Games increased by more than 100 candidates, and it’s a tangible result that holds promise for Tatarstan youth’s deliberate participation in the future Universiade,» Chief of Staff of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Larisa Sulima commented on the launch of the project.

Tomorrow, February 8, the Kazan 2013 presentation will take place in the Zelenodolsk District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
