STUD’ZVEZDA approaches semifinal 21.12.2011

The final casting that took place in the UNICS Culture and Sports Complex saw the participation of entrants from cities and regions of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvash Republic and the city of Ulyanovsk. Each person willing to show off his or her talent and see what others are capable of, was to submit an application online at the site of the project (www.studzvezda.com) and sing two songs, one for each stage of the preliminary round, by music preference.

Both new and old songs in the Russian, Tatar, English and French languages were flowing from the stage. The contestants were performing music in different styles: rock, jaz, pop and rap.

Those that were refused a chance to qualify for the semifinal during the first preliminary round on October 16, followed the advice given by professionals and signed up for the second round: they corrected their drawbacks within two months and managed to get selected as semifinalists.

The panel of judges included STUD’ZVEZDA project manager Albina Yarullina, IRINE STUDIO creative workshop director Irina Shipshova, stage director and concert programme organiser of Kazan University Yury Korolev, leading expert of the Cultural and Social Programmes Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Rishat Gimaltdinov, Student League President Timur Suleimanov and other representatives of Tatarstan’s cultural elite.

13 students were shortlisted in followup of the STUD’ZVEZDA project. The semifinal which will decide the names of STUD’ZVEZDA title holders will take place on January 27 on the same stage of the UNICS Culture and Sports Complex. A grand final gala of the project is scheduled for early February. The finalists will appear in tandem with Russian show business stars.
