Singapore is to welcome Kazan volunteers 03.08.2010
Best Tatarstan volunteers will head to the first Youth Olympic Games that will be held from August 14-26, 2010 in Singapore
Participating in a large-scale sporting event the volunteers will gain invaluable experience that they will be able to apply during the Kazan Universiade.
16 volunteers and 2 Executive Committee officers are to travel to Singapore to work as interpreters and attaches to representatives of the National Olympic Committees. The Kazan 2013 Executive Committee selected the most active volunteers who had been involved in the Universiade activities for the whole year and had become team leaders of the Team 2013 contest held by the Executive Committee of the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan.
From July 31 to August 3 the volunteers undergo training in the Department of volunteers of the Kazan 2013 Executive Committee. The training course will include Introduction to Singapore and to the Youth Olympic Games, Intercultural Communication, Language Practice, Volunteer Functions, etc.
It’s not the first time the Tatarstan volunteers participate in such a large sporting event. In summer 2009 150 volunteers were delegated to participate in staging the XXV World Summer Universiade in Serbia.
