President of Tatarstan congratulated Russian winners of YOG in Singapore 24.08.2010

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov sent a telegram of congratulations to head of the Russian sports delegation at the first Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore Valery Kuvayev, the Tatar-Inform news agency reports.

“I sincerely congratulate you on outstanding Olympic achievements which make us so proud and optimistic about the brilliant sports future of Russia! We attentively follow the competitions and support you. Let out warm feelings and words of support help you preserve the team spirit and determination to achieve the highest result,” the Tatarstan President’s telegram says.

“Our special congratulations to the talented representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan – Victoria Alexeyeva, Svetlana Lipatova and Olympic champion Artyom Okulov!” Rustam Minnikhanov noted in the telegram.

We remind that after eight days of the Singapore YOG Russia is second in the overall medal standings. The Russian athletes won 17 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals so far. China leads the standings with 24 gold, 15 silver and 4 bronze medals. Ukraine is third (8-8-9).
