New racing KAMAZ truck has been tested in Naberezhnye Chelny 16.07.2010
The new KAMAZ truck test-drive was held on the bank of the Kama river. The KAMAZ-Master team will run in the new truck model in Dakar 2011.
The vehicle was tested on the track laid by the team along the bank of the Kama river in the suburbs of Naberezhnye Chelny.
It should be noted that the racing KAMAZ truck features a substantial improvement. The designers has perfected not only the internals of the vehicle (for example, increased the engine power, removed excessive kilograms and even grams from the internals) but also its exterior. So the cabin has been moved back and due to it the platform became lower. According to Dakar champion Vladimir Chagin the new truck has the lowest platform in the history of the team. These changes enabled a considerable improvement of aerodynamic qualities of the car.
The Silk Way Rally in September is going to be a general rehearsal for the new truck. So the KAMAZ-Master team will have enough time to bring the vehicle to perfection before Dakar 2011 starts in January.
