Mosin justifies his last name 01.07.2010
Vasily Mosin won the ESC President Cup. The history of the Trophy is short: it’s just the second tournament. The Cup tournament was held in the framework of the XXXIII European Shotgun Championship.
Kazan shooter Vasily Mosin who the day before lost the bronze medal to Hakan Dahlby (Sweden) in double-trap got back his own. The final meet between Vasily Mosin and Hakan Dahlby dragged on a little: each of the shooters wanted to win the ESC President Cup. The Swede and the Russian who are getting on quite well out of the shooting range were awaiting a miss from each other. Unlike traditional stands of the Championship the sportsmen started to shoot in till the first miss. Today Mosin was more patient than Dahlby. It was him who was holding the Trophy at the prize-giving ceremony.

It should be noted that the regulation of the European Shooting Confederation President Cup differs from the one of the last year tournament: the start involved 8 shooters – 4 adult athletes and 4 juniors. Among adults we can name the following sportsmen: Francesco D’Aniello (Italy), Peter Wilson (Great Britain), Hakan Dahlby (Sweden) and finally Tournament winner Vasily Mosin. As for juniors Artem Nekrasov and Maksim Lazarev presented Russia, Filipp Praj – Slovakia and Alessandro Chianeze – Italy at the Championship.
On his way to the final Vasily Mosin defeated Maxim Lazarev and Filipp Praj.
