Kazan is to host Formula 1 H2O World Championship 10.08.2010
The UIM F1 H2O World Championship for Power Boating will be staged in Kazan in June, 2011. President Rustam Minnikhanov and Nicolo di San Germano, Promoter U.I.M. F1 Powerboat Racing Championship reached an agreement about it during their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin
On August 10 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Promoter of the UIM F1 H2O Nicolo di San Germano and agreed that the capital of the forthcoming World Student Games would host the World Championship, Grand-Prix of the Republic of Tatarstan (working title).
“Staging such a spectacular power boating competition in Kazan may become a milestone event,” Minnikhanov said. Tatarstan President expressed readiness of examining technical capacities of staging the World Championship in Kazan.
“I discovered that Kazan is a very beautiful historical city which is to host the 27th World Summer Student Games,” said Nicolo di San Germano. In the course of his visit he inspected the water areas of the Volga river, Kazanka and Kaban Lake located within the city. According to the promoter all the locations are ideal for holding one of the stages of the power boating races. To study the city’s technical capacities the CT Chairs will pay an inspection visit to Kazan.
