European Universities Table Tennis Championship finals ended 26.06.2010
Student of Kazan (Volga region) Federal University Anastasia Voronova won three gold medals on Day 4 of the European Universities Table Tennis Championship.
At first in pair with Polish athlete Piotr Chmiel from Rzeszov she took a gold medal in the mixed events. The final score of their duel meet against the duo of Alexandra Semyonova from Moscow State University of Railway Engineering and Artem Utochkin from Orenburg State University is 3-0. Antonina Savelyeva and Ramil Mutygullin from Kazan shared the third place with Taras Merzlikin (Orenburg State University) and Tatiana Mikhailova (Russian State University for Humanities).

Together with her team member Antonina Savelyeva Voronova also took top spot in the doubles events. In the final meet they whitewashed the pair of Olga Baranova and Alexandra Semyonova from Moscow State University of Railway Engineering. Another Kazan team of Olga Vlasova and Elza Sharipova shared the third place with the Polish duo of Agata Pastor and Rachela Dytko from Jan Dlugosz University of Czestochowa. And finally Anastasia Voronova was unbeaten in the singles events pushing another player of Kazan (Volga region) Federal University Antonina Savelyeva to a runner-up with a 3-1 score. The doubles team of Olga Baranova (Moscow State University of Railway Engineering) and Tatiana Mikhailova (Russian State University for Humanities) placed third.

The tightest final of the Championship saw the encounter of the Men’s doubles teams. Taras Merzlikin and Sergey Martykov representing Russian State University for Humanities battled through to the victory over the duo of Igor Lezhnev and Artem Utochkin from Orenburg State University. The Kazan pair of Alexey Bolshov and Ilya Zhidkov shared the third place with the Polish team of Pawel Chmiel and Tomasz Lewandowski from Rzeszov. Mikhail Gladyshev from Orenburg State University took the singles champion title. Thus it became his second gold medal as Mikhail had championed in the team competition on Thursday. But on the other hand he left his team member Taras Merzlikin without the championship title with a 3-1 win. Two Kazan athletes Ramil Mutygullin and Ilya Zhidkov won the bronze medals of the tournament.
