Bronze win of KSFEI and gold win of Mordva State University 30.07.2010
The Russian teams showed amazing results taking first and third places at the X European Universities Volleyball Championship
The Economist which dropped the match in the semi against the University of Belgrade outplayed with confidence the team of the University of Almeria. It was not their first meet against the volleyball players from Spain. In the pool play the Economist team posted a straight-set win over the Almeria team. The same scenario repeated itself in the bronze medal match of the Championship.
University of Almeria (Spain): Economist KSFEI (Russia) 0-3 (15-25, 16-25, 23-25)
Mordva State University team knew no defeat during the whole Championship. The Russian athletes swept Eindhoven University at the final match without leaving them the ghost of a chance. It should be noted that though the Dutch team pushed Mordva University close but they failed to win a single set.
Mordva State University (Russia): Eindhoven University (Netherlands) 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 28-18)
On July 31 the Economist athletes, first-time winners of the European Universities Volleyball Championship, will fly back from Warsaw.
