AGIMS Rector applied to be volunteer at 2013 Games 16.02.2012
Rector of Almetyevsk State Institute of Municipal Services (AGIMS) Ilyas Salakhov completed an online application to become a volunteer at the 27th World University Summer Games in Kazan. The unprecedented event took place on February 16, on the day of signing a cooperation agreement between the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and Almetyevsk State Institute of Municipal Services
The ceremony of signing an agreement took place in the city’s Youth Centre and saw the participation of Deputy Head for Social Affairs of the Executive Committee of the Almetyevsk Municipal District Vasiliy Samoilov, Chief of Staff/Advisor to the Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Larisa Sulima, rectors and students of universities, technical schools and colleges of Almetyevsk. Having signed a cooperation agreement, AGIMS assumed the obligation to train volunteers for the 2013 Games. «Given your institute’s rich experience in training experts in the spheres of administration and management, I’m positive that students of the institute of municipal services will become skilled volunteer team leaders,» Larisa Sulima said.
For his part, AGIMS Rector Ilyas Salakhov assured that he would do his best to inspire his students by personal example. For this purpose, on stage, in front of hundreds of students, he filled out an online application form to become a volunteer at the 27th World University Summer Games and gave his word that volunteers of AGIMS will be most active members of Team 2013.
It is remarkable that in the lead up to the 2013 Summer Universiade, students and the administration of Almetyevsk State Institute of Municipal Services have compiled a Russian-English/English-Russian sports dictionary which will be of great help to potential participants of the Games. The cooperation agreement being signed, the students of AGIMS are now entitled to take part in the cultural programme of the Universiade. They unveiled their creative potential at the charity concert that concluded the programme of solemn events on the occasion of signing the agreement between Almetyevsk State Institute of Municipal Services and Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. Students of other universities – Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Institute of Economics, Management and Law, Almetyevsk State Oil Institute and so on – also showed off their talents during the concert.
