27th Summer Universiade, July 6-17 2013, Kazan

Licensing

The Licensing Program is to be officially launched on September, 1. The Licensing Program developed by the Kazan 2013 Executive Board is primarily focused on the production of licensed products of the highest quality at a reasonable price. Within the frame of the Program interested companies obtain rights to the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 trademark for commercial purposes on the territory of the Russian Federation.

High quality at a reasonable price are the major criteria of the licensee selection.

Trademark rights may be transferred to interested companies on a commercial basis for a licensing fee – royalty. Royalty is a compensation for ongoing use of patents, copyright, natural resources and other types of ownership paid as a percentage of sales of goods and service that were produced on the basis of patents, copyright, etc.

It is mandatory to register contracts agreed with licensees in the Russian Agency for Patents and Trademarks. The minimum duration of a licensing contract is 1 year.
The space for licensees in each category is limited. Licensing partner selection is based on a tender. All interested companies are eligible to participate in the bidding procedure.

If a company is interested in a category of goods that is already closed and the licensee has been selected, their request can still be considered for sub-licensee selection.
Tenders for each goods category are conducted in-line with the launch phase plan.
