Alexander Sladkovsky graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. He debuted in the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatory with Mozart’s opera Così Fan Tutte (‘That’s What They All Do’). From October 1997-February 2001 Alexander Sladkovsky was the conductor of the Glinka Saint Petersburg State Academic Capella Symphony Orchestra, and in 2001-2003 – principal conductor of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory State Theatre of Opera and Ballet. In 2004 he was appointed principal conductor of the Glinka Saint Petersburg Capella, and since 2006 he conducted the State Symphony Orchestra New Russia. And in July 2010 Alexander Sladkovsky took the position of an artistic director and principal conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan.
