Our pride

According to the Russian media polling in association with the support of the Ministry for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, Kazan was named the sports capital of Russia. Sport and physical education became a life style for many Kazan dwellers.

There is an excellent development of sports infrastructure in Kazan. Many major international and Russian tournaments were held in Kazan. Kazan is proud of its sports teams:

• The two-times Champion of Russia – FC Rubin;
• The holder of the KHL Gagarin Cup (2), IIHF Continental Cup, IIHF European Champions Cup – HC Ak Bars Kazan;
• The 9-times winner of the Dakar rally – Kazan Master Team;
• The Champion of Russia, holder of the Russian Cup, winner of the Champions League–Zenit-Kazan;
• The holder of the Russian Cup– BC UNICS Kazan;
• The holder of the Russian Cup– Sintez Water Polo Team;
• The bronze medalist of the Russian Cup, the holder of the Champions Cup 2009 – HC Dynamo Kazan.
