On April 11, 2013 Panasonic Russia became a partner of 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan in the category of ‘Video Display Devices and Video Conferencing Equipment’.
By agreement with the Organizing Committee of the 27th Summer Universiade, Panasonic Russia provides various audio-video products. Sports facilities in Kazan will be equipped with more than a thousand LCD and plasma screens. Besides, two video walls of 4 and 9 sq. m. respectively will be assembled from the seamless professional displays by Panasonic Russia. Video walls are to be installed in the Main International Center (MIC) to monitor the situation at the Universiade venues.
HD videoconferencing system will link 60 main venues of the Summer Universiade together with the MIC, enabling the organizers and participants of the Games to get in touch instantly with all sites, hold HD video conferences and live broadcasts. This is a unique technical innovation for major sports events; similar videoconferencing systems are installed at the Olympic facilities in Sochi only.
In addition, video control systems by Panasonic Russia are now installed at the Central Stadium, Rowing Centre and other sports facilities in Kazan. They will be used to ensure the safety of participants and guests during the Summer Universiade.
Sports initiatives support is one of the strategic priorities of Panasonic. The company has been an Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for more than 25 years. In 2012 Panasonic Russia became a sponsor of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team.
