We are proud that we are Universiade Ambassadors. This was announced today at a press conference at the Tatar-Inform Information Agency by the members of the Jukebox band, Ilya Ivanov (beatbox), Vladimir Ivanov (lead vocals) and Harry Kraulis (bass).

On July 18 at the B. Urmanche Museum will be held an Evening of the White Crow Literary Association of the Kazan State Medical University, entitled A Bird's-Eye View.

The play The Kid and Karlsson will be performed as part of the Cultural Universiade.

Today, July 16, the Institute of Tatar Encyclopedia at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan unveiled a new illustrated encyclopedia titled “Tatarstan”.

The rock band Progulschiki ('Truants') which became the winner of 'Russia, Kazan, Universiade!' song contest, invites the citizens and visitors to its final performance in the Universiade Park, which will take place tomorrow, on July 17.

Yesterday evening, as part of the Cultural Universiade, the premiere of the epic Tatar-language operatic tale Ak Bure, or White Wolf, was held with stunning success.

Different performances were on at the Ekiyat Tatar State Puppet Theatre during the Universiade, including performances in English. The translation of four performances was done. These are The Nutcracker, The Magic Swan Geese, Little Red Riding Hood and Buratino. Such steps contribute to raising attention of foreign viewers to the theatre, mentions the theatre’s press service.

Kazan Academic Russian Drama Theatre named after V.I. Kachalov is completing 222th season on a high note. Among the recent performances there is "The Cherry Orchard" by A.P. Chekhov with the first night in 2004. This famous spectacle successfully takes place not only in Kazan but also in many other cities.

Today the Kryashens performing act Bermyanchek will hold their second and final concert of the Cultural Universiade in Kazan.
