"I can have a rest now after a long training session and challenging performance, take a shower. I'm very tired," Akhmetova said in her post-event interview. "I'm pleased with the result. I think that I did well. It was tough in the clean and jerk, but basically I performed OK. I achieved my personal best in the snatch, but as for the clean and jerk I managed to lift heavier weights before."

Diana competed at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, but unfortunately, despite setting a tournament record, she missed out on the podium.

"I was a little bit nervous before today's competition. I wanted to win the domestic championship, not to let down the country, coaches, myself because I've been working long and hard. I felt a bit scared," admitted the champion.
