WorldSkills Russia Kazan 2014 competition – get ready!

The second day of installing the competition workplaces has terminated at Kazanskaya Yarmarka. More than 500 participants and experts have already arrived in Kazan, all in all over 1000 people are expected to come from the Russian Federation subjects as well as experts from other countries: Australia, Finland, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Armenia, Austria.


Yesterday, on May 13, chief experts discussed the competition preparation issues and operations for the coming days. On May 14 and 15, the experts in all skills will have training and agree on the assessment regulations, while the students will attend the workshops and study modern state-of-the-art equipment provided by sponsors.


Educational forum within the framework of the Championships will comprise over 20 events and 60 educational seminars. Such topics as Importance of professional skills in competitive economics and WSR as a method of professional education quality management will be covered at the plenary session.

Please be reminded that it is the second open national competition in professional mastery hosted by Kazan. Masters from all the country will come to represent their profession and contend for the title of the best one in their field of work as well as for the chance to represent the country at the international competition in São Paulo that will host the world largest competition of professional mastery featuring participants from over 60 countries of the world.


The first step towards the final race will be the building of a Russian national team for the forthcoming EuroSkills competition that will be staged in Europe in October, 2014. The participants will have opportunity to share their experience and make essential contacts with the experts in their field. This year the contest has gathered the record number of the applicants. Year by year the participants demonstrate even more results in each skill and become the ideals for younger generation. The President of the Russian Federation has given a high appreciation of the pace and quality of the WorldSkills movement developing in Russia and has proposed Russia to bid for right to hold the World competition in skilled labour jobs in 2019.


Today is the day when the preparation for such a large-scale event with the long-term plans is being brought up in Kazan, precisely here the future of our youth will be defined and the image of our country for the world community as a ground-breaking nation will be shaped.
