Champion’s Day was held on July 16 in the Park. Champion’s Day is a kind of celebration of the Universiade heroes of the Russian team who performed successfully at the World University Games. "151 gold, 72 silver and 62 bronze medals!" speaker voices the results of the team event, and the Park is simply bursting into applauses! Russian athletes were congratulated not only by viewers but also the delegates of the Summer Universiade 2013: People's Artist of RT Elmira Kalimullina, trio JUKEBOX, as well as guests from St. Petersburg and Egor Sesarev and TRUE JAZZBAND.

First the local favourite Elmira Kalimullina appeared on the scene.  "I am very glad that the Universiade is held here, in Kazan!" The finalist of the project "Voice" performed several compositions, but the main gift was at the end. "This performance in front of you is very remarkable for me. And I want to present for your evaluation my new song "You’re the light". I hope you'll enjoy it," singer addressed to the audience.

Trio JUKEBOX continued the programme. These guys needed no drums, synthesizer, or guitar. Musicians use the unique manner of performance combining acappella and beat box techniques. They call this style "street-bit acapella." Music is created without an instrument.

Members of the trio are from Kazan, and as they confessed they were glad to meet their native audience. "Many Kazan fans wrote to us and asked why we didn't visit Kazan. We also wanted to come but it wasn't up to us.  It is a great pleasure to be here due to the Universiade!" the soloist of the band Ilya Ivanov remarked. "Thanks to Universiade!" members of the band summarised.

The next was Egor Sesarev with TRUE JAZZBAND which fromed only a year ago but managed to receive recognition from many listeners. Today they will close the cultural programme in the Universiade Park, so there is still an opportunity to enjoy jazz! And the "icing on the cake" was the street performance of Cirque du Soleil, designed specifically for Kazan. For this performance they even invented their own language! However, this does not mean that artists did not find a common language with the audience - every day the performance of the circus gathered a lot of people.
