ISEM 2013

ISEM 2013 is an annual international conference which brings together sports event management professionals.

The 2013 International Sports Event Management (ISEM) Awards is the only awards for excellence in the global sports event management industry. Conducted annually and now in its seventh year, the awards honour sports event management industry leaders through the acknowledgment of outstanding performance and service excellence in the organising of major international sports events. Among the nominees for 2013 are the FIFA Confederations Cup, UEFA Champions League, Grand Slam (Wimbledon, UK), Davis Cup, Qatar Total Open, Dubai DDF Tennis Championships, Wembley Stadium management and other world-known sports projects. The Team 2013 together with its partners was nominated for the prestigious sports awards across a range of categories.

The ISEM Awards were held in London on November 6, 2013. International experts presented the Highly Recommended Sport City award to Kazan, thus recognising the capital of Tatarstan and the sports capital of Russia as the most successful place to host international sporting events along with Dubai, London and Auckland. This award has propelled Kazan into the top four cities vying to become the sports capitals of the world. The reason why the ISEM Awards experts made this decision is simple: in July 2013, Kazan hosted the best Summer Universiade in the history of FISU.

The organisers of the Kazan Universiade were shortlisted in several categories, including The Event Look (Lorien Image agency), Best Use of Sponsorship (PwC), Best Use of Technology (Centre of Information Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan), The Most Innovative Event (Summer Universiade 2013).
