Transport infrastructure

International airport "Kazan" is the air gate of the World Summer Universiade 2013.

Today, the international airport "Kazan" is under global reconstruction work. By 2013 the airport's capacity will reach 1,200 people/hour, and will be able to accept any type of aircraft. Airport's annual capacity will rise to 2.2 million passengers. The level of comfort and passenger service will also increase. In addition, the airport will be equipped to meet the needs of disabled people.

Kazan metro

Kazan metro is a modern, popular and accessible mean of transport, convenient and high-speed. And it is considered as the safest transport in Russia.

Length in use of the first line is 10.32 km. There are 7 stations on the line: "Prospekt Pobedy", "Gorki", "Ametyevo", "Sukonnaya sloboda", "Ploshchad Tukaya", "Kremlyovskaya" and "Kozya sloboda." Construction of further 3 stations, which will be finished to the Universiade dates, is in progress.

Road network

One of the biggest challenges facing the organizers of the World Summer Student Games in 2013 is providing a convenient arrival and movement through the city for guests and participants of the Universiade.

In order to realize it the program of the road network has been developed in the capital of Tatarstan.

A whole series of competition and non-competition venues will be used at the 27th World University Summer Games in Kazan.

Competitions and training sessions will take place in 49 sports venues, 30 of which are specially constructed for the 2013 Games.

The clinic will provide a high quality medical care to the visitors of the "Zarechye" area, which unites 4 districts of the city with total population of 550,000 people.
