2012 Galaxy-Yoldyzlyk, 12th edition of Open Republican Youth Variety Talent Festival
The Galaxy-Yoldyzlyk Republican Youth Variety Talent Festival is a large festival movement of republican significance in the sphere of modern variety arts that provides a way to image and create, as well as contributes to self-expression and creativity. Due to its high popularity among festival-goers and high appraisal from Tatarstan's state authorities, the festival was taken under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.19

20th edition of 2012 Yagymly-Yaz-Tender Spring Tatar Student Talent Festival Final
The Yagymly-Yaz-Tender Spring Tatar Student Talent Festival has been held since 1993. The festival is open to students of higher education institutions and secondary specialised education establishments of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, federal regions of Russia and CIS countries.5

Polyglot 2013 All-Russian Contest Final
The Polyglot All-Russian Foreign Language Contest is held for two groups of entrants: firstly, among students majoring in linguistics and, secondly, among non-foreign language majors. The contest is open only to higher education institutions that had partnered with the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. Students with a good command of English and second foreign language of their own choice – German, French, Spanish, Chinese or Arabic – can participate in the contest. The organisers of the contest are the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and Student League of the Republic of Tatarstan. Winners of the contest will be automatically enrolled in the list of Kazan 2013 volunteers and will be assigned a role as team hosts or interpreters during the 2013 Games. Moreover, to perfect their language skills and enrich volunteer experience, they will be entitled to serve as volunteer interns at the 2012 APEC Summit in Vladivostok.4

The Spring Dripping Water Festival has been running since 1997 and is seen as one of the most popular and traditional ones in our city. The festival is open to students of secondary specialised education establishments and represents an official city-wide event which is held in accordance with the action plan of the Executive Committee of the city of Kazan.3

Team 2013 project for specialised secondary education establishments of Kazan
The Team 2013 project among students of technicums, technical schools and colleges, facilitated by the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate with assistance from the Youth and Children Committee of the city of Kazan, is held with an eye to build a team of city volunteers for the upcoming Universiade. According to the organisers, the project will help to increase students' knowledge about cultures and traditions of the countries participating in the 2013 Games, as the project entrants will be challenged to meet international students studying in Kazan and prepare presentations with their assistance. For this purpose, the participants of the project have carefully studied cultures of competing nations, their language peculiarities, customs and traditions.
